Thursday night, while I was out visiting my partner in her new home, my husband heard banging coming from my office. He was in the living room with both of the cats, who were sleeping. He described the sound as being like a book falling to the floor. He checked the office, but found nothing amiss.
Earlier Friday evening, just after laying down for a nap, I heard my name being called. I thought it was my husband, who was also in bed, so I responded by asking him what he wanted. When he did not reply, I turned to look at him. He was asleep.
Another event occurred only an hour ago, in my office. My husband was standing at the door talking to me, when I picked up the smell of brewing coffee. My husband also smelled it. At the time, there was no coffee brewing. In fact, the coffee machine had been off since about 10am.
The unexplained bangs, knocking, and name-calling are increasing. And after discussing it, both my husband and I note that the banging and knocking occurs when only one of us is either home or awake. The name-calling, however, is occurring regardless of whether or not we are both home/awake.
